Hallyu star Kim Hyun-joong has won another victory on Oricon’s daily singles chart with his second Japanese single, “HEAT.”

The brand new album debuted atop the coveted Oricon's daily singles chart on Wednesday, after selling 138,000 copies, according to Oricon's official website.

An official from KEYEAST expressed his excitement in a press release, saying that Kim is the first foreign artist to register a record number of album sales on the day of the record's release.

This will be the second time for the KBS’ “Boys Over Flowers” star to break a record on the website this year, after becoming the second foreign artist in Oricon's history to top the DVD weekly chart in May.

His honor with the concert DVD "First Impact" came after late Michael Jackson, whose "Michael Jackson Vision" DVD set the first record on the chart two years ago.

“HEAT,” the collaborative album with famous Japanese musician B’z, is consisted of the title track of the same name and “Let’s Party.” The two-track set holds Kim’s cool voice, danceable rhythm, and addictive melody in harmony.

As a way of expressing Kim's gratitude to his fans, Kim will hold a hand-shaking session in Osaka, Japan on July 7, KEYEAST said.
